About Me

I am a mental health counselor with a deep commitment to helping individuals and couples on their journey toward mental well-being. My academic journey through St. Joseph’s College, Long Island University, and Liberty University has equipped me with a strong understanding of psychology, which I apply in my practice to support and guide my clients.

My Specialties

I specialize in couples counseling and trauma therapy, utilizing my training in both the Gottman Method and EMDR to help clients navigate the complexities of their relationships and personal challenges. My approach fosters deeper understanding, communication, and intimacy, helping every relationship thrive under the right conditions. I am passionate about supporting individuals in overcoming anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, and relationship struggles. My comprehensive training also includes pregnancy and infant loss, military family dynamics, and the intersection of nutrition and mental health, allowing me to offer a holistic approach to mental wellness.

What Inspired Me To Be A Therapist

My path to becoming a therapist was inspired by the profound impact that skilled professionals had on me during significant life transitions. Their commitment to guiding me through challenging times ignited my passion to empower others in a similar way, prompting my return to school after a career in teaching with a renewed mission to transform lives.

My Approach

As a Gottman-trained therapist, I integrate proven Gottman Method techniques into my practice, aiming to improve relational dynamics, resolve conflicts, and enhance emotional connections between couples. Additionally, I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which I incorporate to help individuals process and recover from traumatic experiences that impact their emotional well-being and relationship health. My therapy sessions for individuals are guided by a solution-focused mindset, where I employ cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to help clients transform their thoughts and behaviors, leading to improved mental health and life satisfaction. This multi-faceted approach ensures that I can meet the diverse needs of my clients, supporting them in achieving a greater sense of peace and fulfillment in their lives.

When I'm Not Working, I Like to...

Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending time with my family, including my children and husband. We enjoy traveling, baking, hiking, and watching new television series together. My personal hobbies also include reading, antique shopping, and exploring new foods in different cities.

I provide individual and couples counseling in a supportive and safe environment. My commitment is to accompany you on your journey, offering professional insight and compassionate guidance to help you navigate through your challenges and achieve personal growth and mental wellness.
