Questions to ask:
Do I have out-of-network benefits?
Is there an annual deductible that needs to be met and when does that deductible amount reset? (This is the amount that you have to pay out of pocket before your insurance starts paying)
What is my coinsurance after my deductible is met? (This is the percentage of the allowed amount that you are responsible for per session)
What is the allowed amount per session? (This is the maximum amount your insurance company will pay for the session)
Is there a limit on how many sessions I'm allowed a year?
For example:
Allowed amount* - $130
$500 deductible* - you would pay $130 per session until you reach $500.
30% coinsurance* - after $500 deductible is paid, you will pay 30% of the allowed amount
30% x $130 = $39 will be your out-of-pocket cost per session after meeting deductible.
*Allowed amount, deductible and coinsurance varies by insurance company and plans. Contact your insurance to find out what these amounts are.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
This form may be used by the health care providers to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program (uninsured individuals), or individuals who are enrolled but not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage (self-pay individuals) of their right to a “Good Faith Estimate” to help them estimate the expected charges they may be billed for receiving certain health care items and services. Information regarding the availability of a “Good Faith Estimate” must be prominently displayed on the convening provider’s and convening facility’s website and in the office and on-site where scheduling or questions about the cost of health care occur.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Therapy can be beneficial in several ways, depending on your individual needs and goals. Here are some key ways therapy can help:
Emotional Support: A therapist provides a safe space to express feelings, thoughts, and experiences without judgment, which can help reduce feelings of isolation.
Understanding Problems: Therapy can help you gain insight into your behaviors, thoughts, and emotions, which can lead to a better understanding of underlying issues.
Coping Strategies: Therapists can teach you coping mechanisms and strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges.
Improving Relationships: Therapy can assist in improving communication and resolving conflicts in personal or professional relationships.
Goal Setting: A therapist can help you identify and set personal goals, as well as support you in achieving them.
Behavioral Changes: Therapy can aid in recognizing and changing unhealthy patterns of behavior or thinking.
Mental Health Management: For individuals struggling with mental health disorders, therapy can be part of a treatment plan to manage symptoms effectively.
Exploring these aspects with a therapist can lead to positive changes in your life. If you're considering therapy, it might be helpful to think about what specific issues you'd like to address or goals you'd like to achieve. Our therapists are ready to support you where you are.
-
Whether or not you need therapy is a personal decision that can depend on various factors. Here are some points to consider that may help you evaluate if therapy could be beneficial for you:
Feeling Overwhelmed: If you often feel overwhelmed by your problems, talking to a professional could provide new perspectives and coping strategies.
Persistent Issues: If you find yourself dealing with recurring issues or emotions that don't seem to improve over time, therapy might help you explore them further.
Support System: Even if you handle most problems well, having professional support can be valuable, especially during challenging periods or life transitions.
Self-Reflection: Therapy can facilitate deeper self-reflection and personal growth, helping you understand your emotions and behaviors more clearly.
Preventative Care: Seeking therapy proactively, even when things seem manageable, can be beneficial for maintaining mental wellness and preventing future struggles.
Relationship Difficulties: If you're facing challenges in relationships or communication, therapy can provide tools for improvement.
Ultimately, many people find therapy helpful at different stages of life, even if they typically handle problems well. If you’re curious about it, you might consider scheduling a consultation to see how it feels for you.
